Head of Strategic Finance

VP, Strategic Finance, Fanatics Italy  

JOB SUMMARY: Executive responsible for Financial Performance Management (Long Term Financial Planning, Budgeting Forecast Accuracy, Gross Margin management, SG&A management, inventory efficiencies, Capex) for Fanatics Italy (part of Fanatics International). Part of Executive Team that reports up to Fanatics Italy CEO. 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure accuracy and credibility of reporting and forecasts provided by the Finance group
• Lead the budget preparation process by partnering with department leaders to gather accurate data. Drive accountability for budget accuracy
• Establish profitability goals with the executive team and drive the company to achieve the goals
• Understand the vision of the company and build and execute a financial plan aligned with that vision
• Steer the company to mitigate financial risks and maximize opportunities
• Oversee and execute on strategic mergers and acquisitions
• Provide high level financial analysis to help influence business decisions
• Develop and utilize financial models for analyzing trends and variances
• Work closely with Fanatics International Finance Team on reporting and other strategic initiatives 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Due to continual changes in tax regulations, continuing Education is required. 

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Previous experience in eCommerce / Retail, preferably in the apparel industry
• 15+ years of experience in a Financial Management capacity 
• Fluency in Italian and English 
• Requires strong management, organizational, team building, coaching and mentoring skills
• Requires strong business skills, industry knowledge, financial management and planning skills, long-term vision, and executive presence
• General knowledge of financial and/or payment solutions technology including systems, applications and banking practices
• Requires expert negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Communicates ideas and/or position on a variety of issues both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner to employees and clients at all levels
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in an organized, professional manner

JOB LEVELS:

Finance Executive 

Directs and controls the Strategic Finance activities of Fanatics Italy. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods. Participates with other senior managers in establishing strategic plans and objectives. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the business and/or industry. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization. Typically requires more than 15 years of strategic finance experience.
