Job Summary:
Production Maintenance Mechanic I is for a qualified individual with proven maintenance skills. Responsibilities include efficient maintenance and repair of all extraction, mix-blend, boilers, HVAC, cooling towers, waste treatment, water softeners, RO units, and production equipment. Conducts preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and assisting with other projects as assigned reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs planned, corrective and unplanned maintenance on specified equipment.
• Uses available documentation for equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Ensure safety in the workplace by eliminating unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Supports Quality Systems.
• Protect Company assets by the direct intervention of any condition resulting in the abuse of equipment or buildings.
• Executes the preventive maintenance program as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
• Maintains communication (oral and written) within the maintenance team to ensure smooth shift transitions.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma, or GED.
• 2+ years related experience in a food grade facility.
• Self-starter, able to work in a team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Aseptic processing and high-speed form/fill/seal packaging.
• Boiler license preferred MN 1st class B. Willing to obtain a 1st class B under apprenticeship.
Knowledge and Skills:
Language Skills:
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Math Skills:
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to solve practical problems and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
• To perform in this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of business software, and manufacturing software (HMIs, PLCs, and manufacturing controls).
Additional Considerations:
• Location: This position is at the MN Street Plant in Alexandria, MN.
• Shift: This position is a night shift role on a 2-2-3 pattern; 6 pm to 6 am.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
